If it is determined that you have financial difficulties, then you may qualify for a Debt Repayment Plan with your creditors. You would then have to close out your credit card accounts so that one set payment can be established for you.
Not everyone qualifies for a Debt Repayment Plan. To find out if you are a candidate for debt consolidation, determine if your current interest rates are below 10%, you probably wouldn't receive enough of an interest rate reduction to justify paying the fees to set one up. Also, if you have more than $10,000 in credit card, department store charge cards, medical bills or phone bills, you may qualify.
